Further to a successful trial with our Nippers Black group last week, we are delighted to welcome James ‘Tee’ Graham on board our coaching team!
Catching up with ‘Tee’ this week, he had this to say:
“I have played hoops since I was 5 years old, it is my first love. I played for school teams from age 12-18 and played in the Dorset Storm youth system from age 13-16 whilst also playing in the Bournemouth Bobcats American football youth system at the same time. I went to America and played at the School of Excellence (S. O. E) in North Carolina which is a prep school for Junior College and College in the states. I followed this by playing JuCo in North Carolina. I then came back to England for my Undergraduate Degree in Sports Psychology and Coaching Sciences. Alongside this I played 1 year of hoops at Bournemouth University alongside 3 years of American football. I currently play for the South Coast Tigers Men’s Team.
I want to continue my learning and development to eventually acquire a Level 4 in Basketball Coaching. I want to continue to coach at the highest level and now, becoming a coach at Poole Piranhas, will massively help me towards my life goal.”
Coach ‘Tee’ is qualified with a BSc in Sports Psychology and Coaching Sciences, has a Level 3 in Personal Training and Nutrition, and has a Level 3 in Sports Therapy and Massage. With all this desire, experience and qualifications, we truly feel we have been as lucky to find him as he has been to find us. We can’t wait to get him started!
Tee will start with us on 23rd May being day 1 at our new indoor venue – The Bourne Academy – coaching alongside Coach John with the morning ‘Black’ groups; Kinder, Nippers and Juniors. Please join me in welcoming Tee onboard when you see him in a few weeks’ time.
