ABOUT KINDER

Our Kinder training group sessions are aimed at players around 7-8 years old depending on experience. These sessions run Saturdays 0900-1000, Sundays 0900-1000 and Sundays 1300-1400 at The Bourne Academy.

Membership is £29.50 per month.

We have 4 extendable height basketball goals and lighter size 5 basketballs for the sessions, in preparation for players to be able to shoot in our 8 x regulation 10′ high goals. There is the opportunity for players to move into the Nippers group once they reach an appropriate age and level.

At the end of the summer Piranhas hosted their ann

At the end of the summer Piranhas hosted their annual ‘End of Summer Outdoor Tournament’

Our tourney was held on the outdoor court at the Branksome Centre. We like to encourage
players to play outdoors which is always fun and good for our wellbeing. It’s great to see that the local court at Branksome is quite popular among Piranhas players.

We had a record number of our players from around 10-14 years old taking part in several full court matches across the evening. It was exciting to see some great teamwork and superb individual skills shining throughout. Using a 3x3 ball on a reduced sized outdoor surface on a windy chilly evening was a different challenge, but one the players rose to making for an entertaining time. Well done parents for keeping hands warm with regular clapping.

The second match our table official was Stephen who’s family also donated a basketball hoop for our raffle a few weeks ago. From the raffle money we were able to fund all the drinks and fruits on the day and the rest on maintenance prior to the tournament.
Also, Stephen and Jane had their part in painting the white lines on the court, weeding and tidying the space around the MUGA along with Kasia and John a few weeks prior.

Last week Piranhas Basketball organised an activit

Last week Piranhas Basketball organised an activities jam-packed Basketball Day Camp.

Players practised their ball handling skills and shooting techniques, and they were challenged on new skills too. It was great to see how every player stood up to the new tasks and gave 100%! Afterwards, players had the chance to use their new skills in real games where all teams were competing for prizes (who doesn't like some club merch :-)).
