About After-School Basketball Club

We offer after-school basketball club sessions especially developed for 6 to 16 year olds at schools in the Dorset area. Our aim is to either introduce basketball to players as a fun new sport, or to develop upon existing skills to maintain a long-term interest in the sport.

Basketball now features in the national curriculum as a physical education programme of study for KS3 and KS4 children (11-16 year olds). Our after-school basketball club will help schools meet the curriculum’s physical activity guidelines and requirements, and enhance the school’s physical activity and sport offerings profile to its pupils.

Our sessions are based on the official Jr.NBA™ curriculum. School managers, parents and players can rest assured that our sessions utilise many of the 250+ official drills from NBA/WNBA players, coaches, and strength and conditioning personnel. We provide all equipment including balls, bibs, cones etc. We can even use our own portable goals if schools do not have basketball goals of their own.

We typically run our programmes over a school term period. The cost is £50 per child, per term, which roughly works out just £4 per 1hr session. Optionally, at additional cost, all players can work through the official Jr.NBA™ curriculum ‘Skill Checklist’ with Coach John at each level – Rookie, Starter, All-Star, and MVP – in order to achieve their own personal development goals.

School managers should contact Coach John initially to express their interest. From here we can tailor a programme to suit the school and player particulars.
